Loosely translated as “Shameless Theology”, Teología Sin Vergüenza is a Spanish language digital media project by and for queer Latinx people, developed in response to the Religious Right’s stronghold on Spanish-language religious media across the United States and Latin America.
Teología Sin Vergüenza (TSV) amplifies ferocious queer, feminist, academically-trained Latinx theologians who are living examples of counter-narratives and theological resistance to the political and religious threats our people face.
TSV’s flagship project is a Facebook Live show, where our co-hosts, Rev. Alba Onofrio and Rev. Dr. Lis Valle-Ruiz, guide Spanish-language conversations between Latinx theologians, pastors, and activists who unabashedly live out queer feminist theologies in their life, communities of faith, activism, and/or their academic institutions.
TSV has evolved into a community-centered ecosystem of programming that includes virtual workshops, colloquiums, and the development of new activist resources.
This media project is the first of its kind: a woman-led and queer-centered Spanish-language conversation space where activists and theologians convene digitally across the Americas to discuss the alternatives to death-dealing theologies of Christian fundamentalism that kill our spirits and impede our progress to equal human rights — all from an unapologetically politicized faith perspective.
